for Weight Loss
Does food dominate your thinking?
Do you ever eat when you are not actually hungry?
Do you have strong cravings?
Do you lose weight and then pile it right back on again?
Have you ever actually achieved your weight loss goals?
Have you ever achieved your weight loss goal but had difficulty
maintaining your goal weight?
Have you ever had trouble sticking to your diet?
Do you have a few extra pounds that you would like to lose?
If you answered yes to any of these questions then
hypnosis can help you.
Hypnosis will help strengthen your resolve, maximize
your motivation and assist you in achieving your weight loss goals.
Through hypnosis you will likely overcome challenges that you may
not have previously understood as preventing you from achieving
the weight loss you desire.
Your weight loss sessions will be tailored to address
your specific weight loss needs and your lifestyle. It is important
that as your hypnotherapist I understand what particular challenges
you face with regard to losing weight and what specific areas you
would like to work on in order to achieve your personal weight goal.
Typically those who carry excess weight have formed
strong connections between eating and emotions, e.g. boredom, stress,
feelings of inadequacy; or eating and certain behaviors, e.g. watching
T.V, working, talking on the phone, using the computer...
Bad eating habits and behaviors can also come from
eating patterns and associations formed in childhood. During your
hypnosis sessions it will be important for these old associations
and connections to be severed in order to ensure that your weight
loss is permanent.
The Secret Language of Feelings (by Calvin D. Banyan)
helps explain the relationship between emotions and unhealthy weight
gain. All emotions are good, because they are a form of communication
motivating us to do what is necessary to fulfill our needs, wants
and desires. It is important for our emotions to first be acknowledged,
and then for us to respond to them in a healthy and productive way.
Typically people feel that their emotions are bad
e.g. anger, fear and sadness. Instead of responding to these emotions
appropriately, people prefer to distract themselves by eating, drinking,
smoking, sleeping too much...
When you distract from the ‘bad’ emotion
(instead of acknowledging it and responding in appropriate ways)
you end up feeling worse because you have now eaten too much or
consumed something you didn’t wish to AND you still feel that
bad emotion.
How much do you have to eat to stop feeling sad, or
mad, or anxious? This question doesn’t make sense does it,
because eating is NOT going to stop you from feeling that way. Read
